The official website of the U.S. Department of State published details of a telephone call between the Moroccan Foreign Minister and his American counterpart.

The brief statement published by the U.S. State Department stated: Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke yesterday with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita about the conflict between Hamas and the Israeli army.

The Secretary and the Minister discussed efforts to prevent a regional escalation and secure the release of hostages. The Secretary praised King Mohammed VI’s commitment to peace and security in the region and welcomed continued close cooperation between Morocco and the United States.
