The Osun State Government has issued a directive imposing a 24-hour curfew in the communities of Ilobu and Ifon, effective immediately.

The curfew has been put in place to prevent further breakdown of law and order in these two communities.

Governor Ademola Adeleke took this action to prevent the escalation of the crisis and further loss of lives and property.

The communal clash, which reportedly resulted in about eight casualties, was sparked by an ongoing land dispute.

The Governor, in his capacity as the Chief Security Officer of the State, has ordered the immediate takeover of the disputed lands/areas by his administration to maintain lasting peace and order while the issues are being resolved amicably.
