The Prime Minister appointed by Niger’s junta, Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, is expected to arrive in Bamako on October 5th, 2023, confirms an official Malian source.

The two parties will discuss various economic matters. Mali and Niger, both led by juntas, recently formed a defense alliance with Burkina Faso. The charter of this alliance stipulates, for example, that each country should receive assistance from the others in the event of an “aggression.”
