On October 2nd, 2023, Niger accepted Algeria’s mediation, which had proposed a “six-month transition plan” to the military authorities that took power in Niger, as announced by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release.
“The Algerian government has received, through the Nigerien Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an acceptance of Algerian mediation aimed at promoting a political solution to the Niger crisis,” stated the release.
