Napoli’s prolific striker, Victor Osimhen, is considering legal action against his club, Napoli, following a peculiar incident where the team posted a TikTok video seemingly mocking the player.

This unusual turn of events comes after Osimhen played a pivotal role in securing Napoli’s first league title in three decades, contributing an impressive 31 goals across all competitions.

Despite Osimhen’s remarkable performances, he unexpectedly became the target of a strange video that was later deleted. The video had been shared on Napoli’s official TikTok account.

Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, expressed his concerns regarding the incident in a statement released on Tuesday night.

In his statement on Twitter, Calenda stated, “What transpired today on Napoli’s official TikTok profile is utterly unacceptable. An initial video that mocked Victor was published and, albeit belatedly, subsequently removed.”

He went on to emphasize the gravity of the situation, highlighting the harm caused to the player, especially considering the challenging period Osimhen has endured, involving media scrutiny and false information.

Calenda concluded by stating, “We retain the right to pursue legal action and any necessary steps to safeguard Victor.”

The contentious video featured a clip of Osimhen’s penalty miss during Napoli’s match against Bologna on Sunday, accompanied by an unusual, sped-up voiceover.

This social media incident unfolded against the backdrop of apparent tension between Osimhen and Napoli’s manager, Rudi Garcia, during the match. Osimhen, the 24-year-old Nigerian striker who had also piqued the interest of Manchester United over the summer, notably did not sign a new contract with Napoli, further adding intrigue to the situation.
