European Migration Agency

The European Migration Agency, under the European Commission, called for a collaborative approach with neighboring countries to reduce the numbers of irregular migrants, especially from North Africa, where thousands of migration candidates flow due to security tensions following military coups.

The migration agency explained that the pressure on European countries has increased by 14 percent this year due to the rise in attempts at illegal migration, particularly in Spain. It emphasized that the asylum issue has also become a concern for some European countries receiving thousands of applications in a short period.

Therefore, the European agency emphasized the importance of adopting a consultative social approach with countries in the region, including Morocco, by focusing on attracting qualified labor for migration abroad. This approach would benefit the countries of origin, transit, and reception.
