The “Resistance Committee” in the central district of Wad Madani, north of the Sudanese capital, has opened a donation drive to meet the urgent food needs of the besieged residents unable to escape the four-month-long battles between the army and Rapid Support Forces.

In a Facebook statement titled “Food Crisis,” the Committee highlighted the dire situation faced by the neighborhood’s inhabitants due to the harsh conditions of war, prolonged power and water outages, and the absence of local shops.

The Committee stated that work had come to a halt for over three months, leaving families and individuals without salaries and depleting what remained of their strategic reserves.

In response to this critical situation, the Committee has decided to open the door for donations, seeking to support one another by providing essential supplies or contributing financially to purchase provisions from the nearest available sources and distributing them to those present in the area.
