The South-West All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Group has expressed its dissatisfaction with the recent appointments made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing that a significant number of appointees are referred to as ‘Lagos boys.’

According to a report from THISDAY Newspaper, the group raised concerns that this trend could potentially create tension within the South-West geopolitical zone under the Tinubu-led administration.

In a statement issued by Mr. Dele Fulani, the Coordinator of the APC group, he highlighted the growing number of appointments favoring individuals from Lagos, which amounts to 13 out of the 20 made so far. The group believes that if this pattern continues unchecked, it could lead to internal discord and unrest within the region.

Mr. Fulani emphasized the need to address this situation promptly to avoid potential discontent among the people of the South-West. He specifically mentioned the appointment hopeful, former Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, as a significant example of this trend.

The group urges President Tinubu to consider a more diverse range of appointees to ensure a fair representation of interests and promote unity within the party and the region.
