In a bid to enhance safety and security along the railway corridor in Lagos State, the Taskforce on Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit has successfully cleared the Agege axis of traders and unauthorized structures. Led by the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Shola Jejeloye, the exercise was carried out over the weekend to prevent obstructions and potential hazards to residents and train operations.

CSP Jejeloye emphasized the importance of the operation in safeguarding lives and properties of residents, while also ensuring the smooth movement of trains along the tracks. The taskforce aims to discourage individuals from conducting business on the rail tracks, as such activities not only deface the rail outlook but also pose environmental hazards.

The dislodgement of traders and dismantling of makeshift structures is part of the taskforce’s commitment to combating environmental crimes and maintaining a secure railway infrastructure.
