Triggered by the screenwriters, the Hollywood strike, which recently even involved actors, continues to have consequences. In Morocco, specifically in Ouarzazate, the highly anticipated filming of Gladiator 2 has been suspended, along with other film productions worldwide.

As a reminder, American screenwriters have been on strike since May 1st. They were joined by actors on July 14th, which is an unprecedented event. The strike follows the failure of contractual negotiations between the screenwriters and actors on one side, and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers on the other, representing studios such as Amazon, Disney, Paramount, and Apple.

The international press reports that Gladiator 2 has been suspended, along with the second season of the Amazon series The Rings of Power, a prequel to The Lord of the Rings, as well as the fifth season of Stranger Things and the third season of Euphoria. Regarding Gladiator 2, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal, it is stated that two-thirds of the scenes have already been filmed and are in the can.
