A recent study revealed that the “Instagram” application is the worst application among social networking platforms, due to its negative and profound impact on the mental health of young people.

According to the study, which was published in the Journal of the Royal Society for Public Health in the United Kingdom, the team of researchers evaluated 1,479 people, between the ages of 14 and 24, and focused in the study on the emotional impact they had when using the “Facebook” and “Twitter” applications, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat, to know the feelings they feel, whether positive or negative. The study confirmed that the “Instagram” platform made the participating people feel the worst possible degree in terms of well-being and psychological safety, followed by “ Snapchat, Facebook, and Twitter.

The results of the study indicated that the application of “Instagram” and “Snapchat” were considered the worst social media platforms in terms of negative effects on mental health and well-being. to others in a destructive manner.

On the other hand, it has been shown that the YouTube platform has an average positive effect on users, especially young people, according to the same source.

The results of the study concluded that all platforms studied, except “YouTube”, contribute to increased anxiety in people, by enhancing the need to connect to the Internet and browse at all times, due to the fear of lack of follow-up and missing content.

On the other hand, the study emphasized the negative impact of social media applications on sleep and mental health.
