The Beninese government announced last April the recruitment of 5,000 young Beninese by the army as part of the “response plan”. These recruits will join the anti-terrorist incursion deployment, which already consists of more than 2,000 men, to help Benin confront the attacks by armed groups it has been facing since 2021.

The operation is planned in several stages, the current phase provides for the recruitment initially of 3,500 young people, including 2,000 on the title, that is to say, recruits with qualifications in the trades of mechanics, drivers, etc.

Candidates must master at least one of the languages spoken on the borders of Benin and Burkina Faso as part of the selection criteria.

The sports test is over, and the candidates will continue with the medical examination on June 17th, in 5 days, which closes the recruitment procedure.

Beninese instructors will train them for six months in the garrisons of the Center and North of the country, including Dassa, Djougou, Tanguiéta, Bembérékè, and Kandi.
