The United States will impose new economic sanctions and visa restrictions “against actors who fuel violence” in Sudan, a senior White House official announced on June 1st, 2023.
The violence in the country is a “ tragedy” which “must stop”, estimated in a press release by Jake Sullivan, national security adviser to Joe Biden, without giving further details on the sanctions.
