Uganda: Devastating Fire Hits Kigungu Market, Entebbe: Vendors Count Losses

Vendors at Kigungu market in Entebbe municipality are grappling with significant losses as a destructive fire razed shops and storage centers today, marking a tragic start to their day.

The fire, believed to have ignited at approximately 11:00 am, wreaked havoc on retail shops, adjacent stalls, and general merchandise stores. Among the extensive damage were exercise books, soap boxes, drink sachets, and jerrycans of cooking oil.

The loss also included detergent, sugar sacks, rice, and cartons of baking flour, among other items.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the devastating fire, seeking to determine the source of the destructive incident.
