The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s two drivers managed to rescue James Rufus, who had been trapped in his vehicle for hours due to flooding on the Galana-Kulalu Bridge, in Kenya.

The witnesses helplessly watched as the waters rose and blocked the truck driver in his truck, prompting the rescuers from the elephant rescue foundation to come to his rescue.

Flooding in this region, a consequence of the global climate crisis, is a common threat during the rainy season.

Other countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda are suffering the consequences of floods that have left hundreds dead and injured. Therefore, many people are displaced internally to escape these climatic disasters.
