Hélène Doumro accused the transitional Prime Minister Saleh Kebzabo of sexual harassment in a letter she posted on social networks.

The woman met the Prime Minister for several years in the framework of the Rotary Club of which they are members.

Doumro reported in her letter sent to a senior Rotary Club official on 17th March that Saleh Kebzabo had subjected her to “terrible sexual harassment” between 2013 and 2017.

Saleh Kebzabo formally denies these accusations, after the publication of the letter on 27 April and announced that he is filing a complaint for defamation not only against his accuser but also against other “accomplices” accused of having reproduced the letter.

A journalist’s disappearance and the subsequent arrest of her colleagues have sparked concern in the media industry and beyond. Hélène Doumro, a reporter whose work focuses on human rights abuses, has not been seen since Saturday morning.

One of the journalists arrested is Ngarlem Tolde, a reporter with the weekly Abba Garde. He is scheduled to appear before a judge on Monday. The circumstances surrounding Doumro’s disappearance and the arrests of her colleagues remain unclear, but they have raised concerns about the safety of journalists and the freedom of the press in the region.

Despite being summoned to appear before the judicial police, Hélène Doumro has yet to be located. Her disappearance has sparked an outpouring of support from fellow journalists and human rights advocates, who are calling for her immediate release and for a full investigation into the matter. The case underscores the importance of protecting journalists who are working to expose human rights abuses and hold those in power accountable for their actions.
