Gauteng police have reported that more than 100 people were arrested in Soweto during a recent Okae Molao operation over the weekend. Provincial police commissioner Elias Mawela, along with senior management members, assisted officers in conducting the operation on Saturday.

Okae Molao operations are conducted across the province to help local police stations enforce laws and by-laws.

According to Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo, the suspects are facing various charges. These include possession of unlicensed firearms, contravention of the Precious Metal Act, possession of drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, and being undocumented foreign nationals.
