The Lagos State government has refuted rumors that confidential data was lost in a fire incident that occurred in the Surveyor-General’s office on Saturday. The acting Surveyor-General, Mr. Ayokunnu S. Adesina, issued a statement titled, “Fire incident: No cause for alarm, data is secure,” on Sunday to dispel concerns about the fire.

Adesina explained that emergency responders, particularly the state fire service, promptly extinguished the fire after receiving a distress call. He assured the public that all documents destroyed in the inferno were safely backed up in the cloud and alternative sites, so there is no need for panic.

The acting Surveyor-General urged the public to remain calm and promised to keep them informed of any developments regarding the unfortunate fire incident.
