Morocco’s New Car Sales Decline by 8.55% in April 2023

The Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM) reported that the sales of new cars in the country decreased by 8.55% to 49,300 units at the end of April 2023, compared to the same period in the previous year. The statistics show that the number of new registrations for passenger cars (PC) fell by 6.47%, with 45,035 units sold, while the number of light commercial vehicles (LCV) sold dropped by 26.01%, with 4,265 units sold.

Dacia brand had the highest market share (23.28%) in the PC segment, selling 10,485 units at the end of April 2023, followed by Renault (15.99%) with 7,199 units sold and Hyundai (12.95%) with 5,831 units sold.

In the LCV segment, Renault sold 884 units (20.73% MS), DFSK sold 676 vehicles (15.85%), and FIAT sold 543 units (12.73%). Audi had the highest market share (2.82%) in the premium segment with 1,269 units sold, followed by BMW (2.25%) with 1,013 units sold and Mercedes (2.06%) with 927 units sold.

Porsche sold 168 units, representing a market share of 0.37%, while Jaguar sales reached 38 cars, with a market share of 0.08%.
