Mthokozisi Thwala will further testify about the events that occurred on the night Senzo Meyiwa was killed. Thwala will take the witness stand for a second day on Wednesday to continue with his testimony.
Thwala was present at the Vosloorus home of Meyiwa’s girlfriend, singer Kelly Khumalo when Meyiwa was shot and killed in October 2014. Five men are currently on trial for Meyiwa’s murder, which the State believes was a robbery gone wrong.
While giving his testimony, Thwala disclosed that on the night Meyiwa was killed, Khumalo’s mother suggested that they bid her farewell before leaving. Shortly after that, Thwala spotted an intruder inside the house.
Thwala’s testimony corroborated the evidence given by Tumelo Madlala, Meyiwa’s childhood friend, who was also present when Meyiwa was killed. The trial is ongoing at the Pretoria High Court.
