Morocco to participate in 18th Benin cycling tour

Morocco will participate in the 18th edition of the international cycling tour of Benin which will take place from 2 to 7 May 2023.

This edition will start on 2 May with the Parakou-Djougou stage (132.53 km), with the participation of 75 riders.

These riders come from 14 countries, namely France, Morocco, Guam, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Mauritius, Mauritania, Nigeria, Algeria, South Africa, Togo, the Netherlands and Benin.

The Moroccan team had a one-week training camp at the Centre National des Sports Moulay Rachid in Salé to prepare for this important sporting event.

Five Moroccan cyclists who attended the training camp include Achraf Doghmi, Youssef Badadou, Hussein Sebbahi, Adil El Arbaoui, and Salah Eddine Lamrawni.

Morocco aims to win the 2023 cycling Tour of Benin, especially since the national team had a distinguished participation in the previous edition by winning the overall team classification as the best participating team. While cyclist Adil El Arbawi won the Grand Prix of the capital, Cotonou.

This year, the Tour of Benin will cover the cities of Parakou, Djougou, Savè, Abomey, Comé, Kétou, Ouidah, Porto-Novo, Sèhouè before finishing in Cotonou.
