Palm Sunday

In Nigeria, the Christian community celebrated the arrival of Jesus in Jerusalem by holding a Palm Sunday procession in Lagos. This day precedes Easter Sunday and marks the Holy Week.

Nigeria contains the Christian community as well as the Muslim community.

An art curator stated that this event is synonymous with love and signifies the willingness to be used.

It is an annual event where people line the streets to welcome Jesus, waving palm branches and shouting words of praise.

It was also an opportunity for the faithful to celebrate the recovery of Pope Francis from the hospital.

In contrast, Nigeria, where there is no official religion, is plagued by inter-religious violence, such as the violence perpetrated against Christian-majority villages by members of the Fulani community.
