The government plans to consult with the independent electoral management authority and all the actors in the electoral process before setting a new date for the referendum.

The government has emphasized its commitment to returning to constitutional order and carrying out necessary reforms, stating that it remains one of its absolute priorities. The Head of State has also reaffirmed his commitment to respecting the February 2024 deadline negotiated with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
