On Thursday, unidentified terrorists in Burkina Faso carried out an operation to reclaim territory in the east and north during which they killed 11 troops and injured four more.
Al Qaeda and Islamic State-affiliated terrorists have taken control of major portions of Burkina Faso since 2018, when they began their invasion.
Thousands of civilians have been killed and millions have been displaced by these organizations’ attacks, which have occurred despite the presence of foreign soldiers and United Nations peacekeepers in the neighboring countries of Niger and Mali.
A statement published by the the Burkinabe army confirmed that “The enemy has already suffered significant losses as a result of these measures, and some territories have been recaptured”.
