While the Nigerian-Moroccan gas pipeline project is progressing steadily to supply Europe with gas, several Nigerien engineers appealed to the new president to speed up the pace of the project, “given its economic benefits” to citizens.

The Nigerian engineer, who specializes in energies and minerals, Sendai Adebayo Babalola, expressed, in  statements reported by the Nigerian newspaper, “The New Telegraph”, his hope to achieve comprehensive development in the country thanks to the gas pipeline, stressing that “the federal government must work to protect this project to achieve African integration.”

The engineer himself, who holds the position of director of All Grace Energy Company, stated: “Nigeria should be the main hub in transporting gas to other African countries, as the emotional and political view of the project must be overcome, and focus more on economic benefits.”

For his part, the Director General of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Malam Milli Kyari, said that the project will create wealth and improve the standard of living, and explained that it aims to liquefy natural gas resources in Nigeria, thus generating additional revenues for the country, diversifying gas export methods and eliminating Burn it.

According to the same spokesman, the relentless and motivating efforts of the Nigerian government and the Kingdom of Morocco led to the signing of the memorandum of understanding, which the federal government described as “the largest,” stating that it “will benefit the country in terms of wealth and job creation.”
