Morocco will not be subject to any sanctions from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (RMFF), due to the non-participation of the Moroccan selection in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) for local players, organised from 13 January to 4 February 2023 in Algeria.

This was announced by the disciplinary panel of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), which concluded, after deliberations and examination of the evidence, that “the Royal Moroccan Football Federation was unable to travel and participate in the CHAN due to circumstances totally beyond its control, and as such no sanction of any kind is imposed on the Royal Moroccan Federation.

In conclusion, according to the same statement, the CAF Disciplinary Board rejects the request for damages from the Algerian Football Federation.

It should be recalled that on January 12, the FRMF indicated in a statement that in the absence of confirmation of final authorization of the Royal Air Maroc (RAM) flight, the Moroccan football selection was not able to travel to Constantine in Algeria to compete in the 7th edition of the CHAN.
