The Ghanaian government has set up a sovereign wealth fund called Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) to invest in the Australian mining company Atlantic Lithium.
The Ghanaian government has announced its intention to invest up to US$30 million in the company, which operates the Ewoyaa lithium mine in central Ghana.
This Australian company is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). A press release issued on 16 February stated that negotiations were underway to acquire a stake in the company.
The same release noted that the sovereign wealth fund had proposed to the company to list on the stock exchange.
