In the Central African Republic, an integrated plan for securing local elections (PISE) was signed on 14 February in Bangui, as part of the preparations for the municipal and regional elections to be held in July.

The plan was signed by the Prime Minister, Felix Moloua, the President of the National Elections Authority (ANE), Mathias Barthélémy Morouba, and the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for the Central African Republic, Valentine Rugwabiza.

This tool is reliable for local elections, so as to ensure peaceful and inclusive polls, according to the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

The representative of MINUSCA, Valentine Rugwabiza called in this sense the international partners to finance the Central African government to launch the electoral process.

In addition, the UN representative reaffirmed the availability of the United Nations to accompany the elections in the Central African Republic and to ensure lasting stability in the country.
