Senegal: opening of the Dakar 2 Summit with the participation of Morocco

The Kingdom of Morocco is participating in the work of the Dakar 2 Summit on food sovereignty, which opened today and is organized under the theme “Feeding Africa: food sovereignty and resilience”. The summit, which is attended by representatives of some twenty countries, is being held from 25 to 27 January at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Centre (CICAD) in Diamniadio.

The Moroccan delegation is led by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, and includes, among others, the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fishing, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohamed Saddiki, HM the King’s Ambassador to Senegal, Hassan Naciri and other senior officials.

In order to meet the challenge of food security in Africa, this summit brings together representatives of governments, the private sector, NGOs, experts, and multilateral organizations.

This second edition is chaired by the Head of State of Senegal, the current Chairperson of the African Union, Macky Sall, with the organization of the African Development Bank Group, the Government of Senegal, and the African Union Commission.
