Burkina Faso’s national television announced that Burkina Faso has requested the departure of French troops from its soil within a month, according to a source close to the government.

The French special forces in Kamboinsin, north of the capital of Burkina Faso, number 400 soldiers.

Last Wednesday, the Burkinabe government announced that the 2018 agreement governing the presence of French armed forces on its territory indicates that the deadline for departure is “one month”.

It should be noted that a demonstration was organised last Friday against the presence of French soldiers in the country and demanded the departure of the French ambassador to Burkina Faso, Luc Hallade.
