Initiated by the consulting firm Voltere by Egis, the 3rd edition of the Conference on Tourism and Hotel Investment in Africa (CITHA) held under the theme “Africa deserves beauty” in Abidjan closed its work on January 18.
This event, which brought together hundreds of experts and professionals in the field of tourism, was an opportunity to announce the creation of Dalia Hospitality (DHO) by the Ivorian group Porteo S.A and the French group Centaurus. This is an investment fund that aims to develop projects in the hotel and tourism sector in Africa and Europe by mobilizing a budget of over 500 million euros.
Tourism is a key sector for economic growth, as it contributed $169 billion to the continent’s economy in 2019, according to statistics from the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
