Seven of Nigerian security and civil defense officers have been killed by suspected gangsters in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area (LGA) in Kaduna State.
The officers were heading to a mining site in the area when they were ambushed by bandits. The injured surviving officer along with the bodies of the deceased was taken to Parao Dheko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna.
The company of the officers was an expatriate whose fate is still unknown until now.
Criminal groups in the country target civilians and government officials, killing those who refuse to cooperate with them or who try to resist their demands.
