Portuguese football legend, Cristiano Ronaldo officially joined Vincent Aboubacar at his club, Al-Nassr, on December 30. If everyone thinks that the two players will form a hellish duo in the attack of the Saudi club, rumours about a possible transfer of the Cameroonian striker to Manchester United, from this transfer window, have been conveyed since last Sunday.

Author of a good African Cup of Nations in 2022, finishing top scorer in the tournament and a fairly satisfactory World Cup (two goals), Vincent Aboubakar would be in the sights of Manchester United.

According to the Daily Mail last Sunday, the Cameroonian is of great interest to the leaders of the Red Devils, following the termination of the contract of the Portuguese legend, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Aboubacar-Ronaldo, the hunted-Crusader?

The Mancunians are looking for a striker to replace Ronaldo, who has officially become an Al-Nassr player since December 30, to ensure behind Rashford or Martial.

The Daily Mail put forward the Vincent Aboubakar option last Sunday. According to the same source, the 30-year-old striker would be available on loan, which is exactly the type of recruitment wanted by MU, which wants to strengthen its attack during this transfer window.

Author of an incredible performance at the 2022 World Cup, the Cameroonian has proven his qualities as a finisher to the whole world. This is undoubtedly what caught the attention of Erik Ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United. The CAN 2022 top scorer (eight goals) has scored four goals and provided two assists this season with his club.

If the rumours of Vincent Aboubakar’s transfer to ManU prove true, he and the Portuguese would replace each other at their former clubs respectively. An operation that would be reminiscent of that of Odion Ighalo, a transfer of the same style that no one had seen coming.

Ronaldo, an end to his career not worthy of his talent

Very little used since the start of the season at Man U, CR7 has had the worst period of his career at his favourite club. When the Portuguese returned to the Mancunians in 2021, it was with the intention of supporting his former club.

Unfortunately for him, not everything went as planned. Less than a year after his return, the 37-year-old already wanted to leave the Red Devils who were to play in the Europa League, for a club in the Champions League. This standoff with the leaders of the club is at the origin of the departure of the fivefold “Ballon d’Or”, six months later. On the other hand, the misfortune of some is necessarily the happiness of others because, it could reopen the door of Europe to Vincent Aboubakar, the incredible scorer of the Indomitable Lions.
