The head of the Independent Senior Electoral Institute (ISIE), Farouk Bouasker, presented the first report on the conduct of the general elections Thursday at the agency’s headquarters, welcoming representatives of the Observatory from the Central African Economic and Monetary Union.

The Cameroon-based non-governmental organization’s surveillance mission, which specializes in monitoring elections in Africa, included 15 international observers.

They oversaw the first round of parliamentary elections on December 17, 2022.
