Against the backdrop of the killings and attempted killings in Eswatini in recent weeks, the Eswatini government has condemned in a statement the violence and criminal acts against civilians and members of state security organisations. On 26 December, a vehicle belonging to Prime Minister Cleopas Sipho Dlamini was attacked in a shootout. In addition, a civilian was killed at his home.

As a result, investigations have been launched to locate these criminals. Similarly, the National Security Services will launch a nationwide mission to detect where illegal firearms are being used. These actions are aimed at reducing the feeling of insecurity among citizens.

The government added in the same press release that it will deploy all necessary measures to protect the nation and will not rest until all these criminals are brought to justice.
