The Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Algeria from January 13th to February 4th,  made some minor changes to the tournament schedule. On 13 January 2023, the opening match between Algeria and Libya will be the only match of the day.

The African Football Confederation (AFC) has agreed with the Algerian Regional Organizing Committee of the CHAN-2022 African Nations Championship to make some changes to the organization of the competition.

Originally scheduled for 17:00 (Algerian time), the meeting will now take place at 20:00 at the new Baraki stadium. The second match of Pool A between Ethiopia and Mozambique, scheduled for 13 January 2023 at 20:00 (Algeria time), will be played the following day at 14:00 on 14 January 2023. As a reminder, the 18 countries participating in this contest are divided into 5 groups.

The first three groups (A, B, C) have four teams, and the last two groups (D and E) have only three teams each. The top two players from Groups A, B and C will advance to the quarter-finals, while only the top two players from Groups D and E will advance to the quarter-finals.
