Buhari express his sorrow to Ambassador Malami

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Retired), was sent to the family of recently deceased Nigeria’s first South African High Commissioner, Amb Shehu Malami, Sarkin Sudan wurno.

Buhari defines the news of the deaths of Prince Sokoto and the businessman as a major shock and sad development.

On behalf of the government, the president extended his condolences to his family and friends, the Sokoto Sultanate Council, the government and the people of Sokoto state for the “irreparable loss”.

Buhari claimed that Sudan’s late Mr Sarkin was a prominent, globally respected business leader who believed in the country’s economic potential.

He added that Urno’s late Sarkin Sudan was an icon of business and industry and a gracious traditionalist and that his death is a great loss to the nation as a whole.

The Nigerian news agency reports that the late former special envoy Chef Malami, who died Monday, December 19 in a private hospital in Cairo, Egypt, was buried in his hometown of Sokoto on Thursday.
