Some communities in Ogun State’s Yewa North Municipal Government area have been terrorized following the threat of a new attack by an alleged shepherd murderer. The communities are Ojaodan, ibeku, Asa, and agbon. An unknown shepherd reported attacks on homes and trees in the affected community last Saturday, throwing the entire community into chaos.
In a letter written in English and Hausa, the shepherd told leaders of the affected communities that he would face the wrath between December and January.
The notification reads “Attention! Attention! Attention!! All the following communities: Asa, Abon, Ibeku, Ojaodan and surrounding areas. Do you think we can evict our people from the land they bought in Nigeria, our ancestral land? It’s time to take revenge.”All leaders of the above communities should prepare for war from December to his January. We have come to reclaim my father’s fortune.”
Noteworthy; in the first quarter of 2021, clashes between farmers and nomads claimed lives in affected communities. Many residents of the community fled their homes to the neighbouring Republic of Benin to avoid being killed by nomads.
