According to a press release of the United States diplomatic representation in Dakar, the US Secretary of the Treasury Janet Louise Yellen will visit Senegal as part of an African tour scheduled for 17 to 28 January 2023, following the 2nd US-Africa Leaders’ Summit held in Washington, and confirming the willingness of the US Administration to deepen commercial ties with Africa.
The objective of this meeting is to examine cooperation and development avenues in relation to economic, energy and development fields and to confirm the commitment of the US Treasury Department to African leaders.
After Senegal, the US Secretary of State will visit Zambia and South Africa, where she will meet with her counterparts, as well as business leaders, NGOs and members of civil society.
