Embodying the US commitment to Africa, as expressed at the US-Africa Business Forum in Washington, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has launched the Prosper Africa Virtual Deal Room (VDR), an online investment transaction platform that enables African and US investors and companies to engage in business opportunities.

Prosper Africa was launched in June 2021 by the Prosper Africa Secretariat, with implementing partners CrossBoundary and Asoko Insight, as a pilot project. Now, this project is the solution to accelerating two-way trade and investment between the US and Africa, by giving US companies actionable business information to confidently invest in Africa.

Since its launch, the VDR has hosted some 70 investment opportunities from across Africa. In fact, nearly 1,000 investors have registered to use the VDR to connect with African partners, and more than 100 have entered opportunities on the online platform.
