The State Department’s French-speaking spokesman, Johann Schmonsees, said the US government is advocating for Africa to become a permanent member of the UN Security Council and the G20.

This was expressed three months ago during the UN General Assembly to work with the African Union and international institutions to achieve this goal.

The United States relies on African efforts and security cooperation with Africa to address security challenges.

Since Africa remains a geopolitical force, the US-Africa Leaders’ Summit in Washington presented a platform for deepening US-Africa security ties.
