Official: Lecourtier appointed new French ambassador to Morocco

The Director General of Business France, Christophe Lecourtier has been officially appointed as the new French Ambassador to Morocco, succeeding Hélène Le Gal who left the post last September.

Christophe Lecourtier made the announcement on his Twitter account “After 5 years as CEO of Business France my mandate is coming to an end. The President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna has appointed me Ambassador of the French Republic to the Kingdom of Morocco”.

Recalling that Christophe Lecourtier’s nomination was made on 23 November at the Council of Ministers.

This appointment coincides with the visit of the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, to Morocco and her announcement of the resumption of “normal consular activity” with Morocco, following talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita.
