Energy: Morocco-Nigeria, key partnership for Africa, US officials

US Special Representative for Trade; Dilawar Syed stressed the importance of cooperation between Morocco and Nigeria as part of a partnership in Washington on Friday to ensure a successful African energy transition. He pointed out that it is a partnership between the two great countries of the region.

“Coordination and cooperation on the energy transition is a good thing,” he add in a statement to “MAP “on the sidelines of a conference hosted by the US Trade Council Nigeria on the role of Nigeria and Morocco in regional cooperation on the future of the energy sector.

“We will continue to encourage everyone to adopt renewable energy,” he added. “It’s good for the planet and good for the African continent,” Dilawar claimed

Also, the US officials highlighted the long-term potential that the renewable energy sector offers the African continent and the promising prospects that hydrocarbon development offers Morocco.
