The US Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of African Affairs at the State Department, Robert Scott, stressed in a press statement on the sidelines of the US-Africa Leaders’ Summit, which is being held from 13 to 15 December in Washington, that Morocco’s presence at the Summit is “significant”.

Mr Scott said that Morocco contributed to all the discussions on various themes such as the fight against climate change, economic development, and strengthening the health system, considering that the participation of a leading country like Morocco brings added value to the Summit which brings together representatives of about fifty African countries in addition to the AU Commission and the officials of the American administration.

Mr Scott also praised the “incredible” spirit shown by the national team players at the World Cup in Qatar.
