The WhatsApp accounts of 19 million Moroccans were exposed, at a time when a hacker had penetrated nearly 500 million users around the world.

Precisely 478 million accounts from 84 countries around the world were hacked, while the hacker was able to sell user data, which would make victims receive unwanted ads.

The hacker who carried out these electronic attacks and publicly displayed phone numbers is not known yet, and his move could have serious repercussions such as identity theft or fraud.

The scary part about this whole thing is that the hacked numbers bearing the owners’ first and last names are currently for sale on the dark web, according to cyber media.

Morocco ranks seventh out of 84 hacked countries in terms of the number of hacked accounts.  The country with the most penetration is Egypt, with nearly 45 million users, followed by Italy with more than 35 million, and the United States in third place with a total of 32 million numbers.
