The United Nations Mission for the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) announced in a statement today, Friday, that an attack targeted the southeast of the Central African Republic, on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of a Moroccan soldier from the international peacekeeping force.
The Moroccan soldier, along with other members of his unit, was securing the vicinity of Obo Airport for a plane to land, before the attack took place on Thursday morning, which led to his death.
The MINUSCA revealed that an investigation had been opened to determine the “exact circumstances” of this attack.
