A Moroccan parliamentary report stated, on Sunday, that the local authorities have stopped 56,000 irregular migrants, during the first eight months of 2022.

The report added that the units of the Royal Armed Forces and the Royal Gendarmerie September 2022 had arrested more than 56,000 clandestine immigrants.

The report indicated that about 12,000 irregular migrants were rescued from drowning and death.

The Royal Armed Forces monitor the land and sea borders of the country, and 50,000 soldiers have been relied on permanently to guard and monitor the borders.
Over the past five years, the report revealed that Morocco succeeded in waging a war against smuggling networks, and managed to dismantle more than 1,300 networks, including 256 in 2021 and 100 in 2022 until May 31.
