The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, said that 84 percent of the member states of the United Nations do not recognize the Polisario militias.

Bourita added that countries that recognize this artificial entity remain a minority at the international level.

This came in a presentation that Bourita presented in a secret session of the House of Representatives this week, during the discussion of the sub-budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates in the Committee on Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Islamic Affairs and Moroccans Expatriates.

The minister added that the Moroccan Sahara is now the criterion for distinguishing unclear positions, and it is the means for determining the depth of friendships with countries, and also the decisive factor in valuing and developing partnerships, stressing that the Moroccan Sahara is the issue in which Morocco distinguishes between sincere and serious positions.

Bourita praised the increase in the number of supporters of the Moroccan autonomy initiative, in all regions and continents, including countries with great influence and extensive knowledge of this file, in addition to the opening of three countries, Surinamese, Togo and Cape Verde, in addition to the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, in 2022, its consulates in the southern provinces of the country, with three other countries announcing their intention to open consulates in the coming months.
