13 African countries will benefit from the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline

The Moroccan- Nigerian gas pipeline (NMGP) will officially serve 13 African countries according to Andalou Agency.

The General Director of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM) of Morocco Amina Benkhadra, said on the sidelines of a diplomatic forum held about the project, that NMGP will supply the Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali, and will traverse through the African countries along the Atlantic coast.

Benkhadra affirmed that this project will facilitate the transmission of energy across the countries and accelerate economic and social development.

The 6000 kilometres of the pipeline will pass through Togo, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Gambia, Senegal and Mauritania, in addition to Morocco and Nigeria.
