“Investment of about 40 million euros.” Spanish company boosts production in Morocco

A Spanish company Groceries Limited, a leader in the production, marketing and distribution of berries, including a range of luxury goods, has announced that it has started investing in Morocco.

According to the Spanish newspaper “portalfruticola”, Morocco’s grocery will strengthen its marketing platform in Europe and offer products to the UK and her EU customers.

In the first phase of agricultural expansion in Morocco, investing around 40 million euros, it will develop 300 hectares of blueberries in three different regions of the country.

According to the same source, the farm is already operational and will remain so until 2023.

In addition, the company hopes to expand its network of partner growers by licensing its products in the coming years, with the goal of reaching 1,000 hectares of berry production in Morocco.

Grocery market products in a major global business serving through a large network of owned and affiliated farmers on over 2,500 hectares around the world.

According to the same newspaper, Grocery co-founder and CEO Jorge Varela said: This decision, based on our deep agricultural knowledge and cooperative philosophy, allows us to offer our European market customers the best raspberries all year round.
